Old Vintage Military Sword Knife Civil War

Odl vintage sword. The blade is approximately 35 inches and has 2 (two) grooves (see pics). End of handel to tip is 41inches. When the sword is in the case it is approximately 43 inches from tip to end of handle.

The base fo the blade is approximately 1 1/8th inch across where it meets the handle. Blade is 3/8th inch thcik at the handle. The grip on the handle appears to be some sort of leather wrapped roping with twisted wire around it.

This is a heavy sword, weighing about 4 1/2 pounds. Don't know what else to say. Thats why there are so many pictures. Please have a look at my other listings for more interesting stuff. Thanks.
